Staying Sane in Family Law (seminar + free book)

£150.00

Seminar + free book

Family law is fascinating but it’s also full-on. It’s immersive, it’s tumultuous and the emotional demands can take a toll.

So why not give yourself a shot of inspiration on how to cope with the pressures from the ultimate insider in family law, solicitor turned award-winning therapist, Annmarie Carvalho?

She will lead you on a lively, interactive whistle stop tour of everything you need to know to stay sane in family law, guiding you through:

  • Fascinating concepts from the world of psychology and neuroscience to help you understand your clients (and yourself!) better;

  • Ground-breaking therapeutic techniques on working ethically with the emotional, the vulnerable and the downright angry;

  • How to be a trauma-informed practitioner;

  • Real-life case studies on subjects such as attachment/co-dependency, addiction, mental health disorders and neurodiversity; and

  • Sanity saving tools to help you stay grounded in this topsy turvy world of family law

Peppered with stories from the real world, laughter and Annmarie’s own experiences, this is a must for anyone seeking to understand themselves and others better while preserving their own well-being.

About the presenter

Annmarie Carvalho is a renowned and multi-award winning therapist, trainer and public speaker. Before retraining to become a therapist, she was a family solicitor and mediator at Central London law firm Farrer & Co for over a decade.

Annmarie set up the ground-breaking therapy, training and coaching agency, TCC in 2017 with a mission to provide better mental health support and improve psychological understanding amongst lawyers and those working in and around the legal profession.

Since then, she has worked therapeutically with hundreds of members of the legal profession and trained many more, with a goal to help those in the profession ‘stay sane’!

Annmarie is known for her warm, engaging and funny approach to training. She will regale you with stories from her own life and work in family law, bringing to life in full technicolour the fascinating and helpful psychological principles and techniques she covers.

Praise for Annmarie's training

“Annmarie is a powerhouse of a public speaker”
Sharon Segal KC, 1GC Family Law

“Annmarie was one of the best speakers I have listened to (and I have listened to many in my 24 years of practising!). She was both hugely informative and funny and engaging at the same time.”
Joanna Moody, Barrister, Deans Court Chambers

“…probably the best communications workshop I've encountered"
Mary Ruck KC, Byrom Street Chambers

“She manages to cover really difficult subjects with compassion and humour – it made our roles seem more doable, and all the more important – I have already put some of the learning to practical use and know that I am not alone in that”
